Battery Charger

Battery charger IC expertly mounted by D3 on small PCB extracted somewhere along the line, with external PNP current transistor. Successfully charging single cell batteries.

BlinkM for Light Writing

Presets can be programmed into the i2C EEPROM and then read by the ATTINY25V (not on board now) the BlinkM will be connected with alarm wire for light writing. As of now, the MCU is in the programmer. The firmware is written in AVR assembler.

We Have Light!

Prototype "breadboard" for Nixie tube circuit....power supply out of large plasma TV provides 200 vdc, with required start up logic controlled by Arduino micro-controller sequencing code. Nixie tube elements also controlled by Arduino through transistor array IC, top element illuminated in this image.

More Progess....


D3 is now using an ATMEGA 164PV10PU programmed via an AVR Dragon board, with remote Zigbee communications for speed control (bottom)....a power supply out of a LCD display (center) provides circuit voltages and 24VDC for the motor.

D3 Design for an Optically Isolated Triac

Driven by a square wave, the light flashes at low frequencies followed by this unusual pulsing behavior in a narrow transition range as the frequency is increased beyond a few hundred Hz, and then returns to normal flashing at higher frequencies.

Magnetic Sensor Vehicle Detection


Early working prototype of HMC1021S single axis magnetic sensor (D3 mounted on green board top) with output amplified by AD620N instrumentation amp feeding a LM393N comparator. We've tested and measured a response of approximatedly 30mV (output of amp) to an auto at a range of 3ft.
